Hey, guys! 
My arrival date and location in Japan have been confirmed! I will be teaching at 4 high schools in Toyohashi in the Aichi prefecture in Japan. It is about 2 hours away from Tokyo on the bullet train and 1 hour away from Nagoya on the normal trains.

I will arrive August 12th and will stay with my boyfriend and his mom until the 16th for Obon holiday. On the 16th I will go to Nagoya for training. As of right now I am not sure if I'll be staying in a hotel or will be moving directly into my apartment for the first week of training. I looked up the apartment name they gave me and it seems pretty large and inexpensive for Japanese housing! It has 2 rooms and a separate kitchen! It looks a little old but I think I can deal with that for the extra space and the extra money I can save towards loans and entertainment! However, it has nothing in it! So I am a little worried about moving into it during training week if they require me to do so. I hope I can get my boyfriend to take me to buy some things for it one weekend. XD Please~

I am almost done buying all my essentials for my move to Japan. I bought some business clothes and am getting some products I like that I can't get there (aka American toothpaste, deodorant, Sephora makeup). Pretty soon I'll start packing. I also have to finish my first lesson preparations. 

I am both nervous and excited to go to Japan. I will miss people here but I know it will be an awesome adventure!

Hey guys. As I posted in my last journal I will be working in Japan very shortly. I am trying to downsize the amount of junk I have so it's easier to store as well as save some money for the move. In Japan you get paid monthly at the end of the month so I will not get my first paycheck until 2 months after being there. 

I collected photos of all the things I am currently parting with. Some of the things are clothing, cosplay, pokemon/anime goods, dvds, plush toys, games, manga, etc. The prices range from 0.50 cents to $60. I don't remember if I ever said where I worked, but I was working at Jumpstart and had been working on Neopet's art since October. I really enjoyed drawing the Neopets art, and was sad to be let go along with a lot of my friends. I miss the others at Jumpstart! All my art has been released so I was able to update my portfolio: michelleaportfolio.blogspot.co… Drawing for Neopets helped me improve my prop drawing skills.

Well, I applied to jobs in Japan to teach English since I have been wanting to live there for a little while! AND I got accepted to two companies—Interac and Peppy Kids Club. I decided to go with Interac. So I should be starting in August. I'll be an ALT (assistant language teacher) for a public school. I am really excited. I hope while in Japan I can take some figure drawing classes and draw more. I'll have shorter work days so maybe it is possible!!!

So this month can't get much worst....

I crashed my friend's car, failed my driver's test, and lost my job all in the same week. I moved back home and finally was starting to unpack and clean when we got a call about my grandfather passing away....

I had wanted to go to my boyfriend's graduation on the 26th in Japan. I just really want a hug at this point from him. But seems impossible with all that has happened this month.


I have an interview on April 4th with Interac, a ALT School to teach English in Japan. With all the craziness I haven't had much time to prepare the documents and I haven't started practicing and planning my demo lesson...
